bad joke and I am not up on my game at the moment.
Illinois failed to pass a law legalizing the right of the citizens to protect themselves from harm. All criminals rejoice at the easy pickings! Also, it is an estimated 40 million that the state would have seen in increased revenue from the licensure alone over the next two years. A state going broke turns down revenue by three votes and once again Chicago is the cock block.
better to be tried by twelve than carried by six.
1. the bending of steel
poetry.
coffee.
a love of hard liquor.
rifles, shotguns, pistols
revolvers.
men were bound by
thinner threads then these.
2. hammering to form
poetry.
coffee.
a love of hard liquor.
rifles, shotguns, pistols
revolvers.
man’s bind was broken by
thinner threads than these.
3. the fine blade
beauty.
art.
love.
the eyes and body move
of a naked dancing muse.
man’s mind was broken by
thinner threads than these

gotta say Jhon, I've never appreciated poetry before. Never had the patience to sort and reflect out the words. I am enjoying what you write and showcase. cool stuff, not stuffy.
ReplyDeleteTodd, I write poetry for the people, not for poets and writers. I never wanted to be a poets poet, and I'm not, but this makes it awfully difficult to get proper notice - this year has been good to me and last year I put a book out - but I am trying to reach a larger audience - The workers, bread winners, house folks, unemployed, those searching for something that has yet to find them. I guess you could call me a proletariat poet! I am glad that you are connecting with it - that makes my day!
ReplyDeleteYou already know what I think about your poetry, but I'd never think to state it like you just did. You just wrote a good description of it...
